Tristan "Boomer" Dustin

Last month AEM picked up a new partner site hailing from Texas called 'MX Talk' hosted by Spankys Cycles and from there AEM has met some really nice people running a winter series properly called 'The Blizzard' series. We asked around and found a youth racer with some proud parents who were quick to work with us and we wanted to introduce young Tristan to AEM family of interviewed riders.

Name:

Tristan "Boomer" Dustin

Age:
I am 8 years old.

Tell us how you got started racing, and what was your first machine?
I started out racing on a 50cc baja I loved it. It was my first quad that was gas powered. I entered into my first series race with it at a track called the Boondoxxx in Farmersville Texas. I was doing pretty good, but I was riding against 90cc mini quads. My parents got me a 2006 Polaris Predator 90cc. I finished that series with first place in points. I have entered 2 more series races sense then. my second series at at track called NTMX in Savoy Texas with C.T Promotions. I placed 3rd overall in that series with a stock Polaris90 buy the end of that series my Dad had done some basic upgrades to my mini quad.My 3rd series race 2nd time racing with C.T Promotions called the BLIZZARD witch just ended on February 25 2007 I placed 2nd overall in points. I still ride my Polaris Predator but would like to get a DRR for my next mini quad.

"I am very competitive and it's great to get better every time I ride."

What was your most memorable accomplishment?
My first series, I rode a smaller track. I think my biggest accomplishment has been the ability to ride bigger and more advanced tracks in such a short time. Also that I have been able to get 3 sponsors sense I have started racing Utopia Optics, Powermadd and No toil fast filters.

What do you like best about racing?
I think it's really fun to race against other kids. I am very competitive and it's great to get better every time I ride. I like to go to new tracks. It makes me a little nervous, but once I'm out there, I have a blast.

Have you ever had the chance to see a GNCC, GNC, WPSA, ITP Quadcross or ATV of America race?
I watch X-games and have been to a couple Motocross shows, but I haven't had the chance to go to a GNC National, GNCC, or a WPSA yet.

What part of the track do you like the best?
I like the jumps on the track the best because I like to be up in the air with nothing around or below me. I try to get higher every time I hit them.

How many different locations do you get to race?
All the tracks I've raced at have been about 1hr to 3rs away the furthest being on the Texas Oklahoma state line.

Do you get to race a lot?
I try to get out to NTMX every weekend. (If I'm really good at school, I can go out all day on Thursday with my Dad once and a while, but don't tell anyone). <--- no worries, we won't say a word!

Who are your favorite riders in the motosport world?
My favorite rider is Travis Pastrana witch I got to meet in person here in Plano Texas a few months back but my favorite racer is Ricky Charmical. I know they are not Quad riders but I love their style.

Do you have a lot of friends from school that are lucky enough to race and ride?
None of my friends from school ride, but since I've been racing I've made a ton of friends. Sometimes we'll go to NTMX when it's not a race weekend just to have some fun and go camping We all keep in touch online when we're not together. it's like my second family at my home track NTMX in savoy Texas.

Where do you want to go in the future? What do you really want to do?
In the future, I would love to be a professional football player. I really like to ride 4-wheelers, but I will always do that!
