Jesi Stracham by Jennifer Albright

The Stracham family from Canton Ohio is no stranger to the GNCC and AWRCS Series; as a matter of fact their daughter Jesi has even drag raced in the Outlaw Series on a blaster. In 2003 she moved up to a z400 on alcohol then to Yfz450 in 2004. From there the Stratchum family started GNCC racing in 2005 where Jesi competed in 90 limited class. It is safe to say this family loves racing, the atmosphere, and of course the competition.

Jesi has made quite the impression this last GNCC season, being the first female youth rider to earn a spot on the youth podium in Saint Clairsville Ohio. Competing in the 90 cc Production 11 to 15 year old class, she has had many great finishes and has proven that who ever the competition is she is willing to push herself to come out on top. Jesi does not get to the front by herself. It takes dedication and commitment from her parents, and lots of preparation.

Last season Jesi wasn't hard to pick out at the GNCC races - she's one of the fast riders sporting pink plastic.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Stracham have a great support system in place for both or their daughters. The atmosphere is calm and time is spent overlooking Jesi and Jodi’s quads to make sure everything in their power is secure and ready for the race. The most stressful part of the weekend as described by Mrs. Stracham is “timing their daughters and when they don't come back around within a reasonable amount of time over what they have been running. We begin to wonder break down or accident?” It is not hard for the Stracham’s to allow their daughters to race “we realize it is something they really want to do, and we try to let our girls know that nothing is impossible if you really want it and put your mind and heart to it.”
