What is your favorite track to ride or race at?
My favorite track is Dirt World MX in district 12 AMA. Sadly they have decided to go to a dirt-bike only format. So it looks like I need to find a new favorite track.
What has your racing career been like, how much experience do you have?
Well all I have really done is race locally. I have never held a first place title or ran out of a Woman’s class. I’m still pretty much a rookie. I have the speed but not the experience to run some of the higher classes. I had the chance to run three GNC events over the last two years and my best finish was 1st place in the Women B/C class. That was an amazing race for me and there were a lot of really fast riders there. Things just feel my way and I walked away with a great finish.

You recently ran the WPSA race in Reynolds, GA. How was that for you?
Exciting! I was excited going into the event and plan on running the entire series. I want to gain a full season of experience and then progress up to the Women A class to see how I fair against the fastest and more experienced racers.Let’s talk about your practice and riding situation. The weather, it’s gotta be rough in upper Ohio in the winter.
It’s pretty tough. Unless you can afford to travel south you really get very little seat time. We do have an indoor facility a couple hours away called NEMX, but work and life takes up a lot of time. I spend most of my winter working in a gym doing cardio and weight training plus going over my machine. |
What about people you look up to? Is there anyone in the industry that you keep an eye on or root for when at races?
I really look up to Tim Farr. I think he is overall a great rider and a wonderful person who will always take the time to help you and give you advise.
How is your current sponsor situation?
I guess that depends on how you view things. The sponsors I do have are excellent, some of the best around. But overall I lack much support in other areas. This is an expensive sport. I am always seeking sponsors who are interested in my help.
Right now my main sponsors: Bell Helmets is providing some great support. Also Timbo and Maztech Maching is helping me with Cannondale parts and engine work. I also get a ton of support from Wheelzup Performance, Helmet Skinz, ATV Four-Play, Chet’s Auto Wrecking, 4-Skinz, Fasst Flexx and my mom.
I also want to add a special thanks to Chuck DeBault and the entire ATV Exposed staff for all they are doing for our sport and the chance to do this interview. See you at the races!! |
